Farnborough FC Elite - pre-season

Pre-season has been a little on/off with so many people away during August. However we have managed to get in one friendly - an 8-0 home win vs Binfield FC - and a good training session yesterday, albeit in torrential rain times!

We have an 11-a-side tournament at Sandhurst next weekend, so that should be a good run out for the boys and we should be quite a strong contender. We will try to use the tournament to experiment a little and resist the red mist of "win at all cost" for that one...although I still think we'll win it!

Unfortunately I cannot make it next weekend, as I am taking the FA's new UEFA B License, which has been excellent so far. The FA have really got it right when it comes to coach education in this country. The course comes at a good time for me, as it will allow me to pass over the learning onto our new squad.

Overall, I'm very optimistic about the coming season. The competition will be much tougher - first up is Sutton Utd - but that's great for the players and whatever happens, we'll have loads of fun, develop the players and do our best! Looking at how weak NEHYL is this season, we have definitely made the right move!
